Imtiaz Mahmood

Mr. Imtiaz Mahmood has been a partner at Mahmood, Jabber Khan, Barristers & Advocates since May 2000. He earned his LLB (Hons) from the University of London in 1993, and was admitted to the Bangladesh Bar Council as an advocate in 1995 and to the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in 1998.

Mr. Mahmood began his career with House of Law, Barristers, Solicitors, Advocates, and Tax Consultants in 1994. In 1996, he joined Dr. Kamal Hossain & Associates as an associate, where he worked until April 2000. Subsequently, he co-founded Mahmood, Jabber Khan, bringing with him nearly 24 years of professional experience.

His expertise spans corporate and securities law, petroleum and mineral resources, power, communications, admiralty and shipping, mergers and acquisitions, and customs, VAT, and income tax matters. He also counsels on direct foreign investment, joint ventures, project financing, and commercial arbitration, including cases under the International Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Mahmood was appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of Summit Alliance Port Limited on January 30, 2021.
